Unemployment in France
INSEE national statistics agency of France
had declared French unemployment rate to a new high of 10.9 percent. The
jobless rate has risen to 0.1 percentage points in the last three months from
September.
The new statistics being released with add
to the current pressure being faced by President Francois Hollande who had
raised the issue of Unemployment during elections and had promised to lowering
unemployment as his key priorities. Meanwhile, Hollande approval rating had
been sliding downwards since he assumed his office.
Earlier
Frederic Tallet, in charge of INSEE's employment data had said that the
unemployment rate had been rising slowly from the beginning of year 2013 from
being at an average of 60,000 more unemployed people every quarter from 2011 to
2012.
